Offered Services, Composition and Mission
The Technology Transfer Office of Technical University of Crete | TTO-TUC operates within the framework of the Research Planning and Support Department of the Research Support Unit of the HFCC-PC.
Its composition is foreseen and defined in the planned organizational chart of the FASU - SARF.
It serves both the research staff of the Polytechnic and natural and legal persons and organizations of the private and public sector that are interested in cooperating with the Polytechnic on issues of research utilization and technology transfer.
The mission of the Office is to utilize the results of research at the TUC society for the benefit of society as a whole through procedures that are consistent with academic principles and the institution's code of ethics.
TTO-TUC is a bridge between the academic community and the market and is responsible, among other things, for:
Dissemination of Research Results - Transfer and Utilization of Knowledge & Technology
Advisory Services
- Business Maturation of Research Outcome - provides consultancy support to PK researchers, through individual and group sessions, in order to mature their research results for business purposes.
- Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Enforcement - advises PK researchers on the protection of their intellectual and industrial property rights.
- Establishment of Spin-Off Companies - provides information and support to PK researchers in establishing technology-based companies (spin-offs).
Services to Researchers
- Information on Research Results Utilization - provides information to PK researchers on ways and possibilities of utilizing their research through specialized seminars, meetings, workshops, and other events.
- Recording/Promotion of Research Results - records the research results of PK researchers through the Research Committee's information system and supports the promotion of their research.
- Awareness-Raising Activities for Research Utilization - organizes specialized seminars on research utilization and innovation, and informs PK researchers about innovation competitions and events related to innovation development.
Services to Institutions and Enterprises
- Networking of PK Researchers and Laboratories with the Market - actively participates in the regional, national, and international innovation ecosystem to network PK researchers and laboratories with the market and exploit their research for the benefit of the institution, national economy, and society.
- Supporting Collaborations between PK and the Market - mediates between the foundation and the market to exploit its research and support Greek companies in improving their existing products and services and creating new ones.
